After Hours 04:30
After hours on a Friday night oh that’s right Everybody’s got somebody to lean on ’til the sun comes up Don’t tell me you ain’t got what I need because I’m lookin’ to fly And we’re all in the after hours and that just ain’t enough Needle drops as the clock hits 4am in the city Won’t you dance and free your mind with me baby ’til the sun comes up Don’t tell me you can’t make it tonight ya know I know it’s a lie And we’re all in the after hours and that just ain’t enough Don’t leave me hangin’ all alone. I need somebody to lean on…
3.
Your sayin' your built to last But you gotta make a move so move fast
4.
Say to me…there’s gonna be, more time All I need, is a memory, to hold on Stay with me…another day Can’t you see, I want to be, your man Woke today, before the sun hit the shade…your bed unmade. Look at the sea, the tide that brought me in has pushed me out just the same. Throw out your bags… We could turn back time… So you turn the key… Got your foot to the floor… The dust in the way… Will I see you again?
5.
(French) I went through all this before my love. If only you knew.
6.
Cut 03:16
Why you have to cut so deep? Ya know it hurts so good The way you keep comin’ at me You make me think you would Love makes you sick until 5 days waitin’ here Best we just end the day Break it….off Don’t tell me it’s gettin’ real old So just act your age my love Wouldn’t you like to know On the fifth dull day You don’t want to stay I gotta say I knew
7.
How does it make you feel Holding on to let you go Don't you want to see what we've been missing?
8.
Los Angeles 03:54
You think you know me but you shouldn’t All punchline and no laughin’ This town’s supposed to change your life….yeah I get embarrassed on the phone Just say you’re disappointed Got no good news to call my own All hours at a party Hear voices tryin’ tell me I’m goin’ places man… uh-huh If I wait, gonna miss out on the chance that it might make me… Those are words this city will take… Come on…just say the lie… Gotta roll the dice… You think you know me but you wouldn’t Don’t erase it, fake it My golden moment less you take it Don’t worry… Yeah this angel's comin’ for my money This boy gonna get his dream This boy gonna get his dream This boy gonna get his dream…. Come on, I ain’t gonna no truth from you… Don’t fake me out… You always make me show it…don’t fake me You always make me know it…you bait me

Close To You 04:58
On my knees and I’m begging’ you please Can you hear what I’m sayin’ right now… ‘Cause I’ve tried to break it girl, but I can’t get out My situations stuck at home, for now… I wanna hold you Wanna feel you Wanna see you… Wanna tell you Wanna make you Wanna say… I’ve got a way… Wanna hold you Wanna feel you Wanna see you… Wanna tell you Wanna make you Wanna say… it’s all ok… Close to you... I can’t get close to you.. And I want to feel That you want it too… Heartbreak won’t take us To another world where it’s mutual… All the way from a stranded state In a desert from the very first place… Throw me some feeler or a line - oh please You gonna catch a hungry tiger by its heartstrings
10.
It’s enough... to stop me from looking up Ya just keep me down... I know... it’s easier that way But our west coast days... they won’t ever fade.. hey Could lock me in a birds cage... just watch me as my wings fray Place your bets, just ride out the fantasy…  A soft parade… when real life’s hittin all the hard ways Are there diamonds falling from the sky I’m all in and my hand is burning out And the stars are shinning down like it’s midnight  Like it’s midnight... Don’t bluff… it wont stop me from looking up It won’t bring me down… cuz you know… it’s just harder that way… But our east coast days… might get us paid… hey It’ll lock us in a lion cage… but we can’t let our roar fade… Place your bets, just ride out the fantasy…  A soft parade… when real life’s hittin all the hard ways Count your cards, don’t give up the ecstasy, gotta stay, when life finally shows you the easy days…

Friends 03:00
You see the love in the world Can we be friends for awhile? Why should we wait another day? Can we be friends? Just for now.

about

Brothers Kevin and Mark Ignatius of Das Tapes have been on hiatus for the past few years, living on opposite coasts of North America, but the need to continue their lifelong collaboration spawned a 2022 album that hits home during these often difficult times in the world. The brothers have not strayed from their classic blend of live and electro but have turned that sound on its head to address those often racing thoughts that make us all sleepless in the After Hours.
